About Our Founder

Joe Nethery (BES, MPA, MCIP, RPP) is in his eighteenth year of working as a Registered Professional Planner. He was once introduced by a mayor as the planner who makes zoning fun, a badge of honour he has used on his CV ever since. Joe has long delivered quality projects in over 30 Ontario municipalities, plus Alberta, Nova Scotia, and New Zealand. He brings positivity, stability, transparency, balance, and good cheer to his work—and applies these core values in his relationships.

Joe has won the Award of Excellence from the Ontario Professional Planners Institute for his work with the Town of Oakville on its Comprehensive Zoning By-law Review. He has also been qualified at the Ontario Land Tribunal and Niagara Escarpment Hearing Office as an expert in land use planning.  A captivating public speaker and thought leader, Joe has made eleven appearances on conference panels and has published six published articles in professional journals.

He has planted his roots in Hamilton (Dundas) with his partner, their three kids, dog, and several cherry tomato planters.
